The early bird catches the sunrise
I know it’s not how the saying goes, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. This weekend I woke up really early to catch the morning light. Me and my dad drove to a piece of dutch countryside which was truly breath-taking in itself.
As I was walking through the overgrown piece of land I had a lot of time to think. How nice would it be to do this every day? To walk through nature in the morning, take pictures and do some reflecting.
Wait a minute! I’m not a morning person. I don’t like waking up early! What is it that makes me so happy this morning, that I don’t mind waking up at the crack of dawn? Is it the cosy feeling of the cows and sheep surrounding me?
Maybe it’s the sound of the birds telling me good morning today, or the fresh air. The feeling of nature surrounding me is also an option…
In the end I think it’s the mindset I already had the day before. I was excited to go shoot some nice photos. I couldn’t wait to see the beautiful sunrise in the countryside.
That’s when I learned a valuable lesson which I’m dying to try out. If something excites me about the next day, then I don’t mind waking up early. So, what if I search for something in advance of the next day to be excited about? Would that change my mind on waking up early?

Wat een mooie foto’s! Ik kan me voorstellen dat je hebt genoten. Ik ben wel een ochtendmens en vind het heerlijk om zo vroeg de natuur in te gaan en de zon op te zien komen. Ik vind het wel een leuk experiment voor de donkere wintermaanden: de dag ervoor iets leuks bedenken wat je graag wilt gaan doen en de volgende dag kijken of je vroeg opstaan verkiest boven je lekkere warme bedje. Ik doe mee!

Gezellig! En met de donkere maanden is het zeker een leuk experiment. Laat mij maar weten hoe het gaat. Ben benieuwd ☺️

Was fijn om er bij te zijn, altijd weer genieten met de “kinderen” op stap.
Maakt dat ik met volle teugen van de zon kan genieten, zelfs op dagen dat bewolking is voorspelt!

Wat moet het een fijne omgeving zijn met die prachtige blauwe lucht die je op de foto’s ziet en bijna geen ander mens in de buurt .
Alleen maar schapen en koeien om je heen .
Misschien kom ik er zelfs de volgende keer vroeg voor uit bed ?

Er was een veld vol wilde kamille en munt, dus het rook er heerlijk naar kruidige thee☺️
